Santa Sack Swap, iStitch Sew Advent SAL, Christmas Cards

It's been a few days since my last post.  Keeping an eye on the weather, I slipped down to visit my DSF for a few days before Christmas.  The nine hour drive goes quickly, as does the visit.  Hopefully (weather permitting) I can visit again after New Years.  I miss him so very much!

I participated in the Santa Sack Swap hosted by the lovely and generous Cheryll.  My swap mate was
Sharon from Vrooman's Quilts.  Wowee - look at what she sent!

Here's a lovely basket, complete with pockets:

Kitchen towels (I LOVE these - one is hanging on the drawer handle next to our sink…..but no one is allowed to use it - it's too perfect ;0))
Pretty pot holders (I can't get over how crisp and exact Sharon's points are - she puts me to shame).
A microwavable bowl/potholders and cookie cutters:
A journal, the cutest pen and paper:
Variegated DMC floss, floss bobbins and needles:
The cutest teeny-tiny clothes pins, heart buttons, stork scissors and a hexi:
Sharon - THANK YOU SO EVER MUCH!  I love it all.
Here's my progress on the iStitch Sew Advent SAL (two more days to go!!)

The RAK group had a Christmas card exchange.  This is what I stitched and sent to Hazel:
Here is a card I receive from Michele S.  - I LOVE it!  Thank you ~
The lovely Gracie and Shirlee wanted to exchange Christmas cards and asked if others wanted to join in.  I was paired with Shirlee.  She not only sent a beautiful card, but a lovely Christmas ornament! What a nice surprise!
It was serendipitous, because I had sent Shirlee an ornament, too:

Keep yourself surrounded by stitches ~ Cheers ~

  6. Such gorgeous gifts and ornaments... the potholders look almost too pretty to use! Love your progress on the SAL, too, Kim--really a pretty piece :)

A nine hour drive goes quickly for you??? Wow--I wish I felt that way about driving--I have difficulty staying awake when I only drive the five hours to my mom's!

Wishing you every blessing this Christmas!

  10. Ooh, love the santa sack swap goodies. Would love to participate in a swap like that, but I'm not a quilter/sewer (I just cross stitch) so I guess I will just admire all the goodies instead.
