She also stitched a gift card with hearts - and to complete the heart theme, included a beautiful card with a lavender heart on the front.  THANK YOU, JACQUIE!!!

What a Difference the Right Tools Make!!

Let's be honest.  My sewing machine and I are still getting to know each other.  I'm much more at home with needle and thread in my hands.

I'm participating  In Jenny of Elefantz's Quilt Stitch Along.  Here's the top block:

Don't look at it too closely.  I took out the sewing machine stitches at LEAST three times.  I sweated, I mumbled *@&#^ under my breath (and out loud)…...putting together this block was SO HARD because….hang on…. wait for it, wait for it….I didn't have a 1/4 inch foot for my sewing machine.  Silly me, I thought I could wing it.  Oh no, so not sew!!  The seams are crooked…..and I'm simply NOT a happy camper about it.

The light bulb above my head came on…..heh - how about purchasing a 1/4 inch foot?  It might make sewing a little easier.  Presto-change-o, the second block:
Perfect seams.

Guess what I'm going to do this afternoon?  Yep - take out the sewing machine stitches in the first one and starting over.  SHEESH.  Live and learn.

Remember - keep yourself surrounded by stitches ~ Cheers ~

What a Wonderful Few Days!!

The postman has been good to me again!  I won a give away from Anthea (Hibiscus Stitches):
Beautiful strawberry material (I'm FRUITY over strawberries ;)), matching ric-rac and floss, along with a lovely card.  Thank you, Anthea!

I'm participating in an iStitch exchange and received this pin keep all the way from Spain from Pilar.  Isn't it gorgeous?!?  She also included Anchor floss and a thimble from Barcelona. It's a great addition to my collection of thimbles.  Thank you, Pilar!

As part of the Hooked on Exchanging Christmas ornament exchange, I received this pretty ornament from Melissa.  Isn't it darling??  Thank you, Melissa!!

OK - now to complete my iStitch exchange piece (that I can't show you yet….).  It's all stitched, just needs to be made in to ……  hmmmm  ……???

Angel Puppy in the Window

I'd like you to meet Angel Puppy. Can you see the pearl and red rhinestone collar around her neckI  made just for her?  I added a red angel.  (It can also be worn as a bracelet).
As much as our little Emma would like to keep her as a playmate, Angel Puppy should go to an adoptive home.  She is a mere 5 inches high and is VERY low maintenance.

If you are at all interested in giving Angel Puppy a loving home, please leave a comment to this post.  I'll contact the adoptive parent on June 19th.

In the mean time, keep yourself surrounded by stitches ~ Cheers ~

Round Robin, Pocket Puppy, HoE Christmas Ornament Exchange and Surprises

I'm participating in a Round Robin, hosted by the lovely June.  May's Round Robin found me stitching "something girlie" for Heather:
It's a chart I found in the Cross Stitch Favorite magazine (Spring of 2013).  In return, Heather stitched pretty pink hearts for me - isn't it darling?  The card is so cute - plus she also sent some additional goodies.  Thank you, Heather!!  I love it all.
As you could probably tell, I've been on a bit of a knitting binge - here is my Purple Pocket Puppy.  He's 5 inches high.  Once again, it's a pattern I found on Craftsy.com from Huggable Bears.
I joined the Hooked on Exchanging group and was lucky to get in on the Christmas ornament exchange.  This is the ornament I sent to my exchange partner.  It's a free chart from The Victorian Sampler.
Last, but not least, my brother-in-law and sister-in-law are here visiting from Hawaii.  She and I love to share stitching stash with each other.  This is what she gave me - along with Kona Coffee and chocolate covered macodamia nuts.  Love, LOVE it all and can hardly wait to stitch these up.  Thank you, Val!!

That's all for now - I'm stitching away on other exchange pieces and Christmas gifts for the new grand babies.  Pictures to come.

Care for a Cuppa?

I love miniatures and I love tea.   So, I set to work knitting Bitty Bear….and here he is!  A wee 2 inches, Bitty Bear is ready to serve me tea! Isn't he ADORABLE?!  I haven't decided if he needs to be adopted or if he should stay here amidst my tea cups and tea pots collection.  Hmmmmm…….maybe he needs a companion?
