My mother started to do needlepoint when she was about 70 years old. Here is a pillow I inherited from her. I remember being with Mom when she spotted the canvas in a tiny needlepoint shop in Bloomington, IL. She was so excited and laughed so hard when she read the saying. Now, it makes me smile and fills me with warmth and love, thinking of her.

ReplyDeleteHello Kim,
ReplyDeleteI am still laughing, your Mum obviously had a wonderful sense of humor. Thanks so much for sharing your Mums creation.
Happy days.
Bev.
I love the sentiment on this pillow. How adorable. I seem to be one of the few people that don't like the Wizard of Oz so this sentiment is perfect.
ReplyDeleteOh, that made me giggle! Last week my husband and I were out of town and he visited a cross stitch shop with me. He read one of the samples hung on the wall and started laughing. I think it read, "Life hasn't been the same since that house fell on my sister." It was something like that with a pair of shoes sticking out in front of a house. I imagine he would love this one, too!
