Celebrating Sixty: 1956 - 2016

I've put out some teasers in some of my posts over the past few days about a "stupendous idea" for celebrating my 60 years on this wonderful planet. Here goes:

Vintage Card compliments of The Graphics Fairy

This is my motto:
I truly believe that we each put a bit of ourselves in the pieces we make. Whether the items are stitched by hand or machine, baked or broiled, glued, stranded or beaded...some of ourselves reside in each and every work we do.

With that in mind, here is how I plan to celebrate my 60th year - and celebrate my friends.

I will send 60 handmade RAKs to my friends throughout the year

 I ask two things:

 - Please comment on my blog if you'd like to help me reach my 60 RAK goal.

AND

- Please spread the word to your followers and friends so they might join the fun. Feel free to grab the button at the top right of my blog to help spread the word.

Some of you may think I'm absolutely and utterly bonkers. I've given this a lot of thought - and what makes me happy is giving to others. I can't think of a better way to celebrate this momentous milestone.

Kim, I just went to a birthday lunch for a 90th birthday for a stitching friend from EGA. She picked up the bill for over 30 ladies!

  49. Yep, you are bonkers! LOL! But this is an incredibly sweet sort of bonkers. I agree, with Mrs. Serendipitous, I hope there will be a blog list to see all the fun you spread around. I didn't enter your giveaways for February but I'd love to help you celebrate your 60th! I will add you into my next post, which will probably be on the 15th (GG) although you will probably be full up by then!

And I agree with you, I think we do put ourselves into our crafts. You can feel the love in a handmade gift! And sometimes the frustration haha. I can assure you that whenever a beading needle is involved, all sorts of bits of me are present. ;)

  50. Happy happy 60th!! I would be incredibly honored and delighted to receive a RAK from you, even though it doesn't seem fair that WE should get presents for YOUR birthday!! Hmm, I can send you a recording of me singing Happy Birthday to you in return! =D
