…..when everything you try goes awry? I had one of THOSE days yesterday.
SIGH. I wanted to make a journal cover using a little design I'd stitched from Sweetheart Tree. Well, got the fabric cut and decided it wasn't going to work. OK. Maybe a needle book. I couldn't understand the instructions (for some nefarious reason), so decided "Heck with it, I'll make a pillow."
I got so intent on cutting the fabric just so, my left index finger ran into the rotary cutter.
Do you know how much a finger can bleed?!?!? It hurt like the dickens. I wrapped it up and walked out to the barn where DH was working to see if he thought I needed stitches. (Yes, it was that bad). He/We decided it wasn't bad enough for a ride into town to the ER, so I wrapped it in a bandage and went back to my sewing.
The little pillow looks B-A-D. I used some vintage lace, trying to rescue it - just not working. OK, so I need to rip out all the stitches and start over.
I decided to give it up and do more stitching on the medieval tile I'd started. Working away on that, I discovered I was off a stitch. hmmmmm - I'll make up for it…..stitched some more. DRAT. The "making up for it" looked (here we go again) B-A-D. I'll need to rip out all those stitches.
SIGH. Today will be a better day. I just know it!
Oh yuck! What a day! I've cut myself on a rotary cutter before -- it hurts like heck! Hope today is much better!
ReplyDeleteTake good care of that cut now!!
ReplyDeleteYou know what just popped in my head? Little Orphan Annie. "There's always tomorrow...." ;)
You poor thing. Ouch. I have done that too. Yes it hurts a lot.
ReplyDeleteAs for everything else... Have a day off
I bet we have all had at least something that resembles a very similar day :) Take care, those rotary cutters are deadly! I am terrified of cutting myself with them!
ReplyDeleteMy dear take care..
ReplyDeleteSending you big hugs xx
A day to forget...
ReplyDeleteOh :(
ReplyDeleteI hope your finger heals quickly and is not too painful :(
Sending smiles your way :)

Oh dear. Hopefully your finger isn't throbbing today. Take a break from yesterday's problem projects; I'm sure they'll be easier tomorrow. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my Kim. I hope the fingers okay. Sorry about the bad day. We all have those once in a while.

Bummer....poor Kim...hope the finger is better and today is a good day
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing. How horrible for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awful day. I often have times when I just can't seem to sew anything. Usually happens on a day when I have a few hours to myself to do lots and I end up doing nothing.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I've had days like that.Wondered why I got out of bed. Take care of your fingers, you need them for your good days:-) Shirley N.Z.

Ouch! I have slightly trimmed my finger that same way, luckily it was only the nail for me! I can imagine how much it must have hurt!
ReplyDeleteFunny how a bad day can just keep on getting worse sometimes!
Hugs xx
URGH - I've had those days! Simple instructions that you zip through any other day seem like the ramblings of a mad genius. I hope today is better! :D
ReplyDeleteI cringed when I read about you cutting your finger. Sorry that you had a bad day and hope today was better.
ReplyDeleteGah! I hope things have gone better since then.
ReplyDeleteoh, I just saw this - how is your poor finger?
