Vintage Embroidery Monday and Stitchery Link Party

I purchased these Elizabeth Bradley kits on my mother's and my first trip to London in the early 90s. Actually, I purchased all four panels and a ribbon border to make a carpet, but when my husband and I moved to our new home in 1999, two of the panel kits were lost. So, instead, I made these up as pillows for him.  He loves being outdoors. When we purchased our small farm, we made a promise to keep the land such that it would be a refuge for wildlife - and we've succeeded.

  1. Super needlepoint pillows. Love the fringed edges. The colors match so well. Needlepoint really wears like iron, doesn't it?

  9. Stunning cushions Kim, such beautiful colours and designs. I love the fringing - it reminds me very much of cushions that my Grandma had when I was a little girl (back in the 1970s!) that I loved to play with. I'm sure your husband will love them, what a lovely gift.

  10. Love! I see that pheasant and think of my wool pheasant sweater I regret getting rid of to this day! ;) Anyways, could we ever see a picture of your view outside? Please? And I would love to see a picture of your Giant Schnauzer.

  13. Beautiful pillows! It's too bad the other two were lost, it would have been lovely to see all four together. I bet your DH loves them! :D

  14. Wonderful pillows! I especially like the meadow one.

I am glad you have kept your land for wildlife! Even though I'm in such a rural area, I am surrounded by farmland which isn't very good for life.

  15. Thanks so much for linking these up to last week's Stitchery Link Party and for linking back. They are both so beautiful.

I love that you've kept your land as a place of refuge for wildlife. I grew up in the country and it saddens me to go to places I knew as a young person and see them plowed over or in some cases converted to industrial parks.
