I really, REALLY want to make Catherine Parr up in a needlepoint bag. I didn't want to royally (sorry about the pun) mess it up, so decided to have a go on a piece of needlework I stitched over 25 years ago. It was a pillow, but the velveteen had faded so much, I ripped it apart. Given it was my first attempt at stitching up a needlepoint bag, it's not bad. But there has to be an easier way to do this than by the seat of my pants.
The inside is lined with a light pink moire and the back is a wine-colored velveteen. If anyone can direct me to a tutorial or something that can show me how to attach a cord, I'd appreciate it. Right now, it's
strapless -
GASP! (HA!) I may just leave it that way…..
Now on to stitch for a Christmas card exchange.
Keep yourself surrounded by stitches ~ Cheers ~
I love your gorgeous needlepoint bag! I don't know of any tutorial but I can suggest my own thoughts.
ReplyDeleteIf you were to open the top seams between the outer bag and lining,
slip in one cord end between and slip stitch close with placing extra stitches thru the cord and layers of fabric. Then repeat on the other side. Hope this helps.
love Annette
